A woman in travail knows that the vengeance of the cross is all about
bruising the head of the serpent wherever it shows up. She has no agreement
with works of darkness around her. Rather, she dismantles them in her travail.
She stoops to God and conquers evil- in her life, in her home, in her
generation and in God's family.
Isaiah 27:1
"In that day
the Lord with His severe
sword, great and strong, will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan
that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in
the sea."
Hebrews 11:11-12. Sarah commended for her faith which eventually produced Isaac.
- Lord, please forgive and overlook all my past carelessness and unbelief.
- Lord, in my travail keep me believing even when believing makes no sense.
- Bring laughter and praise into my mouth in the end. Make me victorious.
1 Peter 3:6. Sarah was commended for her obedience to her husband. An example to all.
- Obedience to God will open the door of all obediences to me. Make me obedient.
- Make the obedience of Christ settle in my heart. Make me an obedient wife/woman.
Genesis 12:10-20. Sarah failed to travail when she saw her husband going down to Egypt. She became a victim and was only delivered by a miraculous intervention.
- Thank You for Your miraculous interventions that sustained my life till now.
- Open my eyes to my calling as a travailing woman.
- Cause me to travail in all circumstances and bring a change where need be.
- Heal me where I have been a victim of lack of travail.
Genesis 15. God's covenant of fruitfulness with Abraham. He needed a travailing Sarah to labour until God's promise would become a reality, and Sarah would bear him a son.
- Make me a travailing incubator for Your promise, not a porous basket.
- Help me believe You for the impossible and enter into the closet with that.
- Deliver me from natural ways of relating with the Divine.
Genesis 16. Sarah failed to travail for a heir for Abraham. Rather, she contradicted what God promised her husband by finding an easy way out. When we fail in our duty as travailing women, we will introduce leaven into God's will. "A little leaven leavens the whole lump."

JIHADS etc...
- Lord, deliver Your Church from the leaven of Mama Sarah.
- Lord, deliver the whole world from the same leaven.
- May I not bring others to pick the pieces of my lack of timely travail.
Genesis 20:1-7. A repeat test for Mama Sarah. Again she failed to travail and again became a victim. Faithfully, God delivered her again. Sometimes, God allows us to take the same test again so as to get our attention in what He is dealing with. For Sarah here it was - TRAVAIL!
- Deliver me from serial failures. Establish Christ in me who does not fail.
- Empower me in the place of prayer, yet with all obedience. Make my prayer change situations to Your purpose so my obedience can become pleasant.
- Deliver me from unpleasant obediences.
Genesis 21:1-13. Sarah woke up to travail (v9-10) but behold, it was too late! Even though the bondwoman and her son were cast out, He also became a great nation "...because he is thy seed." (v13)
- My times are in Your hand. Help me to travail before things get out of hand.
- In Your mercy and graciousness, intervene where I have bungled things out of carelessness and lack of travail.
- Don't let me travail only when it is too late.
