Her Background

• A heathen
• Of  Moabites origin- Deut. 23:3
• Heard about the God of Israel via a disobedient disciple
• Decided early not to halt between God and Baal
• Surrendered ownership of her life and womb to the God of Israel

Result

• The lineage of Christ found continuity
• An unlikely candidate who found favour with God and man

 Prayer Points
       Luke 1:4 [My purpose is] that you may know the full truth and understand with certainty and security    against error the accounts (histories) and doctrines of the faith of which you have been informed and in which you have been orally instructed.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

Ruth 1:16-17“Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.”

• We plead for mercy where we’ve halted between God and mammon so much that Your life output through us has been curtailed and stunted.
• I make a definite decision today to follow and go all the way with Jesus. I will not halt between God and Mammon.
• Open my eyes to see and know that my life is a borrowed life and my womb is for the purpose of birthing in travail the purposes of God via intercession.
• God’s people will be my people- Sever me Lord from the Adamic race.
• Grant me grace as a branch to remain grafted, abiding and fruitful inside Christ. May I never walk out on Jesus

• That I am enabled to daily live a life of total obedience

• Help me fully come into discipleship so that Christ’s life can be completely formed and crystallised in me.
• Grant me understanding that discipleship is simply my journey to becoming like Jesus. Do not allow me take this likely.
• Make me resolute and courageous in fulfilling all the pre-requisite of discipleship so that I can also fulfil the full extent of my destiny.

Can you relate with Tamar?

• A Canaanite;
• Given in marriage at a young age;
• Married men whom heaven declared as wicked and dis-pleasing to the Lord;
• Abused, used, abandoned and forgotten;
• Twice widowed;
• Likely labelled and ostracised because of her circumstances;
• Hit rock bottom - widowed, no child (inheritance), no continuity, sent back to her home;
• Promises broken and left to hope in vain;
• Desperate for a seed, she ran ahead of God and tried to fix things herself.

ALSO...

• Patient
• Strong and resilient
• Courageous
• Focused
• Determined and resourceful 

She was driven by a purpose and desperate to see its reality, which is:
The desire to provide an heir for her deceased husband.

• To preserve his name;
• To retain their inheritance;
• For continuity for his lineage.

What prize are/have you paid so that Jesus’ life has continuity?

Prayer Points

• Hebrews 2:10 - Affect my heart so that I also can carry a burden to bring relief to the heart of God and see many sons come into glory.
• Baptise me with a duty of both carrying the life of Jesus and ensuring His life/name is preserved in my lineage, community and nation at large.
• 2 Timothy 2:2 - Enable me commit to faithful men, all the things I have learned so that the life and virtues of Jesus has continuity.
• John 15:4 - Grace to perpetually abide inside Christ, so that I bear His fruit as well as take on His burden.
• Malachi 3:3 - Present your life to the Lord and ask the Him sincerely to sit on you as a refiner and a purifier of silver; purge you through and through so that your offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.

Huldah and Bithiah

HULDAH – 2 Kings 22v14-20, 2 Chronicles 34v22-33

She was the wife of Shallum, a man of prominence in Judah. 

He was the keeper of the Temple wardrobe. Shallum and his wife, Huldah, were among the people who helped to counsel, instruct and advise the young king Josiah. She helped to take care of King Josiah in his early childhood, teaching and influencing him to develop into a God fearing man/king.

She was a relative of Jeremiah, a descendant of Joshua son of Nun of the tribe of Ephraim. Her standing and reputation were attested to, in that she was consulted when the lost book of the law was found. Her word was accepted by all as a divinely revealed one.

She prophesied national ruin because of the disobedience of the people to the commands of God. Her prophetic message and the public reading of the law brought about a revival resulting in the reforms carried out by King Josiah. With a renewed spiritual life, King Josiah and the people vowed to follow the God of their fathers more faithfully.

When men recover the lost truth of the Cross and apply them to life and morals, great and mighty changes take place. 

Huldah taught the Word of God to the Jewish women, mothers and daughters.

PRAYER

• Let the spirit of repentance, holiness and purity fill our homes, churches, institutions and nations.

• Lord, make our leaders to begin to revere You and Your Word.

• Let the fear of God descend into the hearts of our political, church and institutional leaders.

• Lord, purge Your church to the point that world leaders will turn to You in Your church again.

• Father, please entrust us with Your Word to the point of national and global revival.

• Lord, give us tender compassionate hearts as Your agents in these last days.

• Let Your zeal begin to accomplish Your Word and Work in us.

• Father, use us to bring and restore nations to You once again.

• Lord, wherever You put me in my life’s journey, can you please use me to make a difference.

• Let my life impact and point the younger generation to the Cross.

PHARAOH’S DAUGHTER – BITHIAH – Exodus 2v1-10, 1 Chronicles 4v18

Bithiah means daughter of Yah (Yahweh).

She was Moses’ adoptive/foster mother. She was opposed to what her father the king of Egypt stood for – the killing of boys, 2 year olds and under. Her heart was drawn to Moses. She was inadvertently doing the work of God without realising it because Moses had to be preserved for the destiny God had for him. Staying afloat on the River Nile would not have been enough for the child Moses to enter into his destiny.

God used a pagan princess to deliver the child who was to become one of God’s agents of deliverance to preserve the race that he loved.

Her heart went out to Moses (Message version).

PRAYER

• Lord, I may not understand fully Your plan but please let my heart be tender enough to respond to Your prompting and leading in these last days.

• Let my heart go out to the younger generation in the place of intercession.

• Father, I may not live in a palace to be able to take the ‘waifs and strays’ but can you equip me to ‘adopt’ them in my heart to preserve them for You.

• Father, we pray for all the ‘Pharaoh’s daughters’ out there. Affect them that they may be used for Your purpose.

She stood between Moses and death as an instrument of saving the baby from death. She may not have been known by her name but by her deeds and by her faithfulness to one of God’s chosen people.

• Lord, I do not need to be known to be labouring for nations, but could you please let the output and outcome of the labour remain for Your glory.

• May the Lord preserve us for His glory.
