EXODUS 2:1-10 KJV
And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child's mother.
And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it.
10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses:  and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

CASE STUDY
JOCHEBED: THE MOTHER OF MIRIAM, AARON AND MOSES

Jochebed gave birth to Moses during the time of persecution of the Jews; the suffering and killing of male children at birth in Egypt. Right from her youth, she may have loved the Lord and was determined to train her children in the way of the Lord (being born into a Levite family did not mean serve the Lord. Here is the challenge – she was on her way to terminate her desires as she was living under the ruling of a wicked king who had targeted to eliminate sons of Israel at birth.
.
All Jews were subjected to continuous fear and sorrow of the heart because of the suffering. However, Miriam, who would have been about seven years old then, knew the purpose of the kingdom She obeyed her parents and became a friend and good counsellor to her mother at the point of need. She cooperated with her mother for the safety of her baby brother.

A GODLY MOTHER WHO RECEIVED GRACE TO RAISE BABIES, TODDLERS, TEENS AND YOUTH FOR GOD:
MIRIAM: A Prophetess  - Exodus 15:20.
AARON: The spokesman of Moses and a priest.
MOSES: The Leader of Israel who led them out of Egypt with the great power of God.

JOCHEBED TURNED TO GOD CONCERNING MOSES:
Brethren, look at the situation of Jocehebed. Death waited to swallowed her beautiful son. She turned to God with all her heart and snatched her son from the sword of wicked Pharaoh of her day. What is it that has determined to swallow your son or daughter? Is it sickness, anger, stubbornness etc.? Rise up now and travail for him or her and the Lord will give you victory.

PRAYER POINTS
  • God, open my eyes to Your beauty in my children; let me see the beautiful things You hid in their life and protect that beauty from being killed, damaged or destroy by enemies.
  • O God, help me to nurture Your beauty in their life until it becomes mature for your use.
  • Father, give me wisdom to spend on my children as Jochebed did on Moses in the time of danger and challenges.
  • Father, raise and helper fit for my children at every stages of life.
  • As the Pharaoh’s daughter looked Moses, she too SAW and had compassion on him. Father, cloth my children’s life with Your compassion anywhere they go.
  • Father, even at (nursery, school, college, university) and etc. let Your compassion save my children.
  • Pharaoh’s daughter said to Moses’ nurse : “Take this child away and nurse him for me.” Right from that moment, Jochebed and her household were covered with the royal protection of Egypt. With Moses in that house, the house that was unable to hold Moses a few hours ago became a special house among the Jews where adopted child of Royal family lived, all because of a woman who depended on strength of God. Pray that the royal protection of God will be upon your household because of Jesus in You.

Arise! As God's Burden Bearers

Jeremiah 9:17 – 22

The Prophecies of the old are the Epistles of the new. The elects of old did not experience the greatness of God until they carried HIS BURDEN in the right way for His people. Nothing major happened until they turned their wailing and travailing in the place of prayer into a burden. As God raised Jeremiah to call on women that were skilful in mourning due to the impending judgement on the land of Judah and Jerusalem, He is also calling on us as women of this present age to arise as HIS co-burden-carriers.

“BURDEN” means: a load
a heavy thing that needs to be carried
something worrisome that one needs to deal with

As God's burden-bearers, we are to yield to God's sorrow over a situation until there is a breakthrough according to His divine purpose.

THOSE THAT QUALIFY TO BE GOD'S BURDEN-BEARERS ARE:

  1. Those that can grieve or sorrow passionately.
  2. Those that will always lament for their iniquities instead of lamenting for their calamities.
  3. Those that would mourn for bad things before they become worse.
  4. Those that have tender minds to receive the impressions of divine grief.
  5. Those who tremble at God's call for whatever cause or labour.
  6. Those who can train generations after them to be mourners.
  7.  Those who can work their ways into their neighbours for divine purpose.
  8.  Those that affect others with the burden of the Lord at a given time.
  9.  Those whose jobs/work will mean nothing to them as far as God's burden is concerned.
  10.  Those that are bound to the horns of the altar of The Almighty (Psalm 118:27).

THERE IS REST for as many people that will yield their challenges that have become burdensome unto the LORD... Matthew 11:28, Psalm 55:22 and 1st Peter 5:7.

CALVARY HAS LIFTED OUR BURDENS...PRESS INTO THIS ETERNAL TRUTH!!!

PRAYER

  • Thank you Lord for the provision of THE CROSS that had lifted our burdens once and for all, since the foundation of the world. Lord, help me to walk and press into this eternal truth all the days of my life.
  • Lord, have mercy on me concerning any burden that I have carried wrongly thus far, or that I have spoken myself out of, due to all sorts of excuses.
  • Lord, please help me to enter into THE REST You have promised concerning all my challenges that have become burdens in my life. I cast them all unto You; do as You please with them, O Lord!
  • Lord, let no challenge becloud Your burden in every area of my life. Let me constantly experience a fellowship that will lighten my burden at all time.
  • Anoint me specially for divinely inspired burden afresh. Take away any distraction as I bear this burden in YOU. Lord, please soften my heart that has been toughened by hurts, pains, unforgiving spirit so I can carry Your burden as it pleases You.
  • Lord, grant me the grace to lay hold on THE HELP that You have released and still releasing till You appear in glory in Jesus mighty name. AMEN!

Exodus 1: 6-22 (KJV)

And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.15 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

Prayer
  • Lord Jesus, help me; teach me to fear and honour you with my life.
  • O Lord, help me to always know that it is not I but Christ that lives inside of me. Help me to always allow Him to respond appropriately to any situation confronting me.
  • Help me not to hijack the work of God by trying to do it of my own ability. Teach me; help me to be totally dependent on You.
  • Any remnant of the natural man that will cause me to revert to my own ability, my own wisdom, Lord, rid me of them.
  • O Lord, bring me to the point of total and complete obedience that no matter what it costs I will obey you Lord.
  • Lord, help me to bear the consequences of my following You no matter what it may bring or cost.
  • In silence, there is power. Lord Jesus, grant me divine wisdom as I walk with you.
  • Whatever, labour You have brought me into, help me not to be sluggish at it, Help me not to be lazy or slothful. Teach me to be diligent and committed to it with my whole heart.
  • Help me to always know that whatever decision or action I take has a direct consequence on Your divine plan either for my life or for those You have attached to my life.
  • Envision me O Lord.
  • Lord Jesus, cause me to arise and align myself to your written Word for my life, family, church and nation. Help me not to be part those that will truncate Your divine purpose from coming forth speedily.
